Ruud van Nistelrooy has resigned as PSV manager with immediate effect
Ruud has decided to leave after one season in charge.
PSV needs to find a new coach for the upcoming season as Ruud van Nistelrooy has chosen to resign from his position following internal unrest. Nistelrooy believes that he did not have the support of the team after several internal conflicts, and PSV has confirmed that there have been issues between the squad and the coach.
With one point, PSV can secure the second place and a spot in the Champions League for the next season. As part of the agreement between PSV's management and van Nistelrooy, they would evaluate the situation after the season. However, van Nistelrooy had a different perspective and has left the club with immediate effect.
Nistelrooy’s record at PSV:
- 50 games
- 34 wins
- 8 defeats
- 8 losses
- 127 goals
- 60 conceded
- 110 points
- 2.20 points per match
- 2 trophies
Van Nistelrooy managed to win 2 titles during his time at PSV: the Dutch Super Cup and the Dutch Cup. Now, it seems that they will finish as the runners-up, so it can be said that even though they missed out on the Dutch championship, he had an approved season.
