Champions League Preview: AC Milan vs. Red Bull Salzburg

Both teams could be eliminated from the Champions League tonight when they face each other in Italy.

AC Milan needing only a draw at home at San Siro when they play the group final against RB Salzburg for further participation in the Champions League.

Current Form:
AC Milan has had a mixed start to their Serie A season, where they are in third place with 26 points, they are coming into this match with a 2-1 defeat to Torino where the play was absolutely not pretty.
AC Milan is previously known for a solid defense, but they have so far conceded 13 goals in the league, which is too high if they are to become champions again in Italy.

They have been good offensively where players like Rafael Leao, Giroud and Brahim Diaz have played well and contributed well to the 25 goals Milan have scored in the league so far.

Every year, Salzburg are big favorites to become Austrian champions and they are also number 1 after 14 games in this season.
They have had too many draws, which means that they only have a 2-point lead over the competitors for Sturm Graz and something could indicate that there could be some tension around the Championship this season.

Salzburg are known for their talents and their two profiles this season are also 2 tight players; Okafor and Adamu have both scored goals and assists in all competitions, which has also made them attractive to bigger European clubs.

The first meeting between these two ended 1-1.

Injuries:
AC Milan:
Davide Calabria, Alessandro Florenzi, Alexis Saelemaekers are injured. Mike Maignan and Zlatan Ibrahimović remain sidelined too.
Fikayo Tomori are back from suspension and the Danish captain Simon Kjaer is expected back to.

RB Salzburg:
Junior Adamu and Oumar Solet are both struggling with thigh problems and may not be fit in time.
Fernando and Nicolas Capaldo are definitely unavailable for Salzburg.

Profiles:
Both teams have strengths in the offensive and we must assume that the match will wave back and forth, the first goal may well go and be decisive the games result.

Rafael Leao is the big profile for the Italians and with his 6 goals and 9 assists in all competitions, he can be decisive for AC Milan in tonight's match.

Sesko has not found last season's great form which made him attractive to big clubs in Europe. He has only scored 6 goals in 22 games this season, but if he finds previous form, his stats will also be higher. Tonight's game could be the one that really kickstarts his season.

Expected lineups:
AC Milan possible starting lineup:
Tatarusanu; Kalulu, Tomori, Kjaer, Hernandez; Tonali, Bennacer; Rebic, Diaz, Leao; Giroud

Red Bull Salzburg possible starting lineup:
Kohn; Dedic, Pavlovic, Wober, Ulmer; Gourna-Douath; Seiwald, Sucic, Kjaergaard; Okafor, Sesko

Result of the game:

We believe in a goal-rich match where AC Milan will take the victory in the end.

We say: Both teams to score at 1.85 (Betfair)
