Can they win it all? - The Boston Celtics

Can they win it all? - The Boston Celtics
This is a mini series where I will take upon the top teams in each conference and see if they can make it out through light analysis

The Boston Celtics, the runners up from last year's Finals, a team carried by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, and it's working.

Roster and staff

Boston has been developing a young roster through acquiring high picks from notably the Sixers (trust the process). For the Celtics it was a win, since a couple of good first rounders in Jaylen and Jayson. The team itself was built beautifully, with Marcus Smart guarding the perimeter and winning a DPOY on the way to the finals. The Celtics have a Tall team with a capital “T”, having Al Horford and Robert Williams as big in blocking shots or draining from three.

Even in the absence of Ime Udoka, Joe Mazzulla has taken his team to a 70% winning team. The addition of players with tenacity in Pritchard, Luke Kornet and Grant Williams is shown on the floor. And let’s not forget the addition of Malcolm Brogdon coming off the bench. Without a doubt the team is stacked with potential championship players.

Just to give an idea of how well rounded Boston is, the team is currently the most defensive team in the NBA, and are reading the board offensively. Mainly due to Tatum and Brown's capabilities on both ends of the court, but also with the help of the entire team which is what the sport is all about at the end of the day. But here's the thing, can a team be both carried by the entire roster and individual MVP caliber players?

MVP players

Tatum has been on a rampage these past months, scoring on anyone in his path and making himself noticed in the MVP ladder, between greats such as Jokic, Giannis, KD and of course Luka. The fact that Tatum has been so consistent since 2021 shows the tenacity of the player, but also the mentality carried out through the entire team.

The opposition

The Celtics seem to have no big opposition in the west, besides Luka and Nikola. Let's consider that the Warriors are still a big team and despite being in the 9th seed Curry always comes back in shape at the end of the season when injured. In the east the Bucks and Nets seem to be the problem, but nothing they haven't overcome in the past.

Overall the Celtics are the favorite to make it out of the east, and very possibly finally win a championship.
