Who is Liverpool's new number 8?
Dominik Szoboszlai is a new player at Liverpool, and we have taken a closer look at his profile.
Dominik Szoboszlai is a Hungarian football. He was born on October 25, 2000, in Budapest, Hungary. Szoboszlai began his career in the youth academy of the Hungarian club MTK Budapest. In Salzburg, Szoboszlai developed into a creative and goal-scoring midfielder. He was a key contributor to the club in both the Austrian Bundesliga and international tournaments such as the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.
Due to his impressive performances, Szoboszlai attracted interest from several top European clubs. In January 2021, he signed a contract with RB Leipzig, which is part of the same Red Bull football network as Salzburg. In Leipzig, he played 90 matches, scoring 20 goals and providing 22 assists. At the age of 22, he is also the captain of the Hungarian national team, and that is likely one of the reasons why Liverpool has chosen to activate his release clause, as he has a significant amount of experience despite his young age.
