What will happen to David de Gea now?
The Spanish goalkeeper leaves Manchester United after 12 years.

A legend has chosen to say goodbye to Manchester United after 12 years at the club. De Gea concludes his Manchester United career as the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the Premier League season 2022/23. He also made history during the season, surpassing the record of the legend Peter Schmeichel (180) with 181 clean sheets. De Gea is also the goalkeeper who has played the most games for Manchester United (545 games), so it's indeed a significant profile choosing to leave the club. There have been mixed feelings among United's fans regarding De Gea, as he has also made some mistakes that have cost crucial points. However, when looking at his career stats, it is a fitting farewell for the Spanish goalkeeper.

David de Gea stats for Man United:
Games: 545
Goals conceded: 590
Clean sheets: 181

David de Gea trophies at Man United:
-    1x Premier League
-    1x FA Cup
-    1x Europa League
-    2x League Cup
-    3x English Super Cup
-    2x PL Golden Glove

David de Gea did not extend his contract with Manchester United and is now a free agent when he must go out and find his future club. We have looked at the clubs that could be interested in signing de Gea as their new goalkeeper:

Al-Nasr:
Saudi Arabia has brought in several big profiles this summer and the next could be David de Gea. De Gea has turned 32 and can secure a financially strong contract by signing with A Nassr, who is said to be ready with a contract. Here he will also become teammates with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Inter Milan:
Inter's goalkeeper Andre Onana is rumored to be Manchester United and they therefore have to find a new goalkeeper, here de Gea on a free transfer could be an obvious transfer target for the Italian giants.

MLS:
Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets are new names in MLS and it is rumored that the American clubs hope to attract more big names this summer, with good contracts and great experiences this might attract the Spanish goalkeeper.

Atletico Madrid:
Will he return home to where it all started? It seems unlikely as Atletico currently have one of the world's best goalkeepers in Jan Oblak, but he is rumored to be joining Bayern Munich, so maybe a transfer cabal could happen here.
