We’ve dived into the stats to find out who the top 10 most fouled players from across Europe have been this season.
10. Jonathan Bamba
Jonathan Bamba has started the season well for Lille as he has already matched his goal tally from last season.
The French winger has scored three goals in his opening eight fixtures and has drawn 23 fouls so far this season.
9. Elvis Rexhbecaj
Augsburg have struggled for goals so far this season, having only averaged 0.71 goals per game.
Elvis Rexhbecaj has certainly been in the wars though as he has drawn 23 fouls from midfield.
The 24-year-old has also averaged 1.4 fouls per game and so he is certainly no stranger to putting a foot in.
8. Jeremie Frimpong
Jeremie Frimpong has been the most fouled player in the Bundesliga during this campaign, racking up a total of 24 fouls drawn.
The Bayer Leverkusen defender has started the season well by scoring two league goals so far.
The 21-year-old also had a starring cameo off the bench against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League as he assisted each of their goals in a 2-0 win.
Frimpong has a bright future ahead of him, which is backed up by the numbers.
He has also averaged 2.6 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga, which ranks him amongst the best dribblers in the league.
7. Abdelhamid Sabiri
Sampdoria have had a poor start to the season so far as they currently sit bottom of Serie A on just two points after seven matches.
Abdelhamid Sabiri does rank with the league’s most fouled players though as he has drawn 24 fouls in total.
6. Oscar Trejo
At 34 years old, Oscar Trejo is still going strong for Rayo Vallecano.
Last season he produced nine assists for the Spanish side and he has started this campaign well with two goal contributions.
The Spanish midfielder has drawn 25 fouls so far, which is more than anyone else at the club.
5. Mattia Zaccagni
Mattia Zaccagni of Lazio ranks at the top of Serie A for fouls drawn this season.
The 27-year-old has been fouled 26 times this season at a rate of 4.73 per 90.
4. Jean-Ricner Bellegarde
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde ranks in the top 10 most successful dribblers in Ligue 1 this season with 2.1 successful dribbles per game.
As this is the case, defenders often resort to fouling him and he has drawn a total of 26 fouls this season.
3. Iker Muniain
No player has been fouled more than Iker Muniain in La Liga this season.
Only Nabil Fekir was fouled more Muniain was last season as he drew a total of 81 fouls in the league last season. This time around he has already been fouled 27 times.
2. Neymar
When it comes to drawing fouls, usually no one does it better than Neymar.
The Brazilian winger has had an impeccable start to the season with 15 goal contributions in Ligue 1 already this season.
Neymar missed a large chunk of last season through injury, but he seems to have put those struggles behind him
Christophe Galtier has found the perfect role for Neymar this season and the Brazilian has been thriving so far.
He has drawn a total of 28 fouls this season and is just beaten to the number one spot.
1. Breel Embolo
Breel Embolo tops the list as the most fouled player in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
The Monaco forward is already off the mark with two goals this season and he has been quite the nuisance for defenders in Ligue 1.
In total, Embolo has drawn 30 fouls this season and he has had quite the impact in his debut season with Monaco so far.
