The Championship is known for its relentlessness and tough nature, but we often see some of the most creative players in the EFL shining in this division.
We’ve compiled a list of the top 10 most creative Championship players this season, based on how many key passes they have produced.
10. Illias Chair
QPR have quite the track record for producing highly-skilled playmakers and Illias Chair looks to be their latest prodigy.
The Moroccan international has produced 66 key passes this season as well as 13 goal contributions.
9. Marcus Tavernier
Marcus Tavernier has thrived under the management of Chris Wilder this season and while he only has five assists to show for it, he has been one of the most creative players this season.
Tavernier has come up with 68 key passes which is almost twice as many as he produced last season.
8. Joe Rothwell
Whoever manages to land Joe Rothwell this summer is getting an absolute bargain as his contract is coming towards an end with Blackburn.
The dynamic midfielder has produced 68 key passes as well as completing 52 successful dribbles.
7. Jaidon Anthony
Bournemouth recently secured their promotion back to the Premier League and Jaidon Anthony certainly played his role this season.
He has managed to form a formidable partnership with Jordan Zemura down the left-hand side and he has been Bournemouth’s most creative player with 70 key passes.
6. James Garner
James Garner has gone from strength to strength this season under Steve Cooper at Nottingham Forest and his 81 key passes highlight this.
Forest are now gearing up for their playoff campaign and Garner will have an integral part to play.
5. Callum O’Hare
With his low centre of gravity, Callum O’Hare is able to glide past people and he also has an eye for a killer pass.
In terms of a goal return, this has been O’Hare’s best season yet with five goals. He’s also been the creative force behind this Coventry side with 84 key passes.
4. Sorba Thomas
Sorba Thomas has arguably been the story of the season as the Welsh winger has seamlessly transitioned from non-league to the Championship.
He has 11 assists to show for his 90 key passes this season and he has also completed more long key passes than any other player with 39.
He has made quite the name for himself as a set-piece specialist and he has been an integral part of Huddersfield’s rapid rise up the Championship.
3. Jed Wallace
For the third season running, Jed Wallace has over 15 goal contributions in the Championship and his value to this Millwall side cannot be underestimated.
He has made 94 key passes, which blows any other Millwall player out of the water this season.
Plenty of Championship clubs will be knocking on his door at the end of the season as his current contract with Millwall is set to expire.
2. John Swift
John Swift’s technical ability has never been in question, but he has often struggled with injuries.
Thankfully this season, Swift has been much more dependable.
This is Swift’s second season where he has managed to play over 3000 minutes of football and in that time he has been one of the best players in the league.
Reading’s main man has produced 104 key passes and he has an impressive 24 goal contributions to show for it.

Harry Wilson was always going to top this list, wasn’t he?
The Welsh winger has formed a prolific partnership with Aleksandar Mitrović this season as he has assisted 10 of his 43 goals this season.
Wilson has made 104 key passes this season and he has 19 assists this season, more than any other Championship player.
