The Premier League’s top scorers since 2012/13: Salah, Lukaku, Son
The Premier League is never short of attacking talent and so we’ve looked into the top 10 Premier League goalscorers since the 2012/13 season.
10. Christian Benteke
Christian Benteke kicks off the list with 86 goals since the 12/13 Premier League season.
The Belgian forwards best goalscoring season came in his debut season with Aston Villa where he scored 19 Premier League goals.
9. Olivier Giroud
Throughout his time with Arsenal, Olivier Giroud regularly scored double figures, scoring a total of 73 Premier League goals in 180 Premier League appearances for Arsenal.
The French forward also scored a fair few for Chelsea and has scored a total of 90 goals since the 12/13 season.
8. Son Heung-min
Son Heung-min won the Golden Boot last season without scoring a single penalty goal.
Since the 12/13 season he has scored 96 Premier League goals and he is now closing in on the 100-goal club.
The Spurs forward had a somewhat frustrating start to the season, until he managed to get off the mark with a hat-trick against Leicester.
7. Sadio Mane
Sadio Mane won the Premier League Golden Boot in 2018/19 after scoring a total of 22 goals, which was his most prolific season.
The Senegal international scored 111 league goals for Liverpool and Southampton across the last decade.
6. Raheem Sterling
Raheem Sterling’s role in Manchester City’s title wins over the years shouldn’t be underestimated.
Only Lionel Messi has more goal contributions playing under Pep Guardiola than Sterling does, which is quite an achievement.
The former Man City winger has scored 112 Premier League goals since the 12/13 season.
5. Romelu Lukaku
While Romelu Lukaku’s move to Chelsea was seen as a failure, there’s no doubting that he has been an elite goalscorer over the years.
The Belgian forward had his best goalscoring season in the Premier League during his final year with Everton as he scored 25 goals.
In total, Lukaku has scored 121 goals since the 12/13 season in the Premier League.
4. Mohamed Salah
Mohamed Salah was always going to feature high up on today’s list and having won three Premier League Golden Boot’s, it’s easy to see why.
Salah had his best goalscoring season during his first year for Liverpool when he broke countless records to score 32 league goals.
The Egyptian has scored 122 Premier League goals since 12/13, with two of those goals being scored whilst he was at Chelsea.
3. Jamie Vardy
Since the 2015/16 season, Jamie Vardy has averaged 18.2 Premier League goals per season, which is staggering consistency.
The Leicester City forward had a crucial role to play in their historic title-winning season as he scored 24 goals to get them over the line.
Overall, Vardy has scored 133 Premier League goals since the 12/13 season.
2. Sergio Aguero
Sergio Aguero optimises what it means to be an out-and-out goalscorer.
Despite usually missing large chunks of the season through injury, the Argentine forward would regularly score 20+ Premier League goals.
Aguero’s best goalscoring season for City came in 2014/15 where he scored 26 goals and won the Golden Boot.
The former Man City man has a minute to goal ratio of 107 minutes since 12/13, which is the best of any of the forwards on today’s list.
In total, he has scored 161 Premier League goals across the last 10 seasons.
1. Harry Kane
Harry Kane is on his way to becoming the all-time top Premier League goalscorer as Alan Shearer’s record of 260 Premier League goals is in sight.
Since the 12/13 season Kane has scored more goals than any other Premier League player with 189 league goals.
Considering that he has never played for a title-winning team, those goalscoring numbers are freakishly good.
