The outfield Premier League players with the most minutes played this season
Consistency and availability is a huge aspect of modern football and so we’ve taken a look into the Premier League outfield players who have played the most minutes this season.
10. Pierre-Emile Højbjerg
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has been a dependable member of Antonio Conte’s Spurs side as he only missed two games throughout the entire season.
Højbjerg accumulated 3199 minutes in total, which made him Spurs’ second most used outfield player.
9. James Ward-Prowse
James Ward-Prowse has been crucial once again for Southampton as the midfielder finished as their top scorer with 10 goals.
The 27-year-old only missed two matches throughout the entire season as a result of him being suspended after a red card against Chelsea.
In total the Southampton captain played 3217 minutes in this campaign.
8. Moussa Sissoko
Watford had a season to forget as they finished 19th, having only accumulated 23 points.
That being said, Moussa Sissoko did play more minutes than any other outfield player at Watford at the age of 32. The Frenchman played 3221 minutes in his debut season with Watford.
7. Marc Guéhi
Crystal Palace were in the top seven defensive Premier League units as they shipped just 46 goals across the season.
Marc Guéhi was able to form a solid partnership with Joachim Andersen in their first season together at Selhurst Park.
Guéhi’s form has even been enough to earn an England call up as he will have his eyes set on the World Cup later this year.
In total Guehi played 3223 minutes from starting in 36 Premier League matches.
6. João Cancelo
João Cancelo took his game to another level this season as he made the left back slot his own at Manchester City.
Along with Ederson, Cancelo was the only Manchester City player to start over 34 games this season which highlights how much trust Pep Guardiola has in the Portuguese full back.
He grabbed seven assists throughout the season as he played 3228 minutes for Man City.
5. Harry Kane
Taking into consideration the uncertainty over Harry Kane’s future at the start of the season, Spurs have managed to get the best out of England’s captain once again.
The only game Kane didn’t feature in was against Manchester City on the opening day of the season.
He managed to rack up 3232 minutes in total, which is Kane’s second highest for a Premier League season only behind 2015/16 when he played 3370 minutes.
4. Teemu Pukki
Norwich may have had a season to forget but Teemu Pukki still highlighted what he was capable of as he scored 11 goals.
Pukki started in 37 of Norwich’s 38 Premier League fixtures and played 3261 minutes in total.
3. Pontus Jansson
Pontus Jansson was an ever-present member of Brentford’s backline and he only missed one Premier League game due to suspension.
This was Jansson’s first season in the Premier League and he did well to rack up 3322 minutes throughout the year.
2. Conor Coady
Conor Coady was one of two Premier League outfield players to start in ever league game this season.
It’s fair to say that Coady is used to playing week in week out as across the last four seasons he has missed just one Premier League game.
The Wolves captain played a total of 3364 minutes throughout the season and was just pipped to the number one spot.
1. Matty Cash
Claiming the number one spot on today’s list is Aston Villa’s Matty Cash who has accumulated an impressive 3380 minutes of Premier League football.
Cash started every single Premier League fixture for Aston Villa and played more minutes than any other outfield player.
Only Illan Meslier, Hugo Lloris and David de Gea accumulated more minutes than Cash in the Premier League this season.
