The Eredivisie has been home to some of the best creators around Europe over the years and we’ve checked out the best ones from this year.
We’ve ranked the top 10 most creative players in the Eredivisie by the amount of key passes they have produced.
10. Philippe Rommens
Philippe Rommens produced five assists for Go Ahead Eagles last season and his creative numbers remain impressive this year.
The 25-year-old has made 14 key passes this season at an average of 2.33 per game.
9. Moussa Sylla
Moussa Sylla has produced one assist so far this season in 389 minutes of league football.
The French attacking midfielder had his best goalscoring season to date last year with FC Utrecht as he scored six league goals.
This season he has produced a total of 14 key passes and has been FC Utrecht’s most creative player.
8. Iliass Bel Hassani
Iliass Bel Hassani has already managed to surpass his goal tally from the whole of last season with three goals in his first six appearances of the season.
The 30-year-old has produced a total of 14 key passes this season, but is yet to get off the mark with an assist.
7. Xavi Simons
Xavi Simons wasn’t given much of a chance to shine at PSG last season as he only played 127 minutes of league football.
His move to PSV Eindhoven has been a hit so far though as he has nine goal contributions in his first seven appearances of the season.
The 19-year-old has 16 key passes this season and has three assists to show for it.
6. Joey Veerman
Joey Veerman has been another of PSV Eindhoven’s most creative outlets this season as he has produced 16 key passes this season.
The 23-year-old has three goal contributions this season and currently sits top of the table with PSV.
5. Oussama Tannane
Oussama Tannane did well last time he was in the Eredivisie for Vitesse as he produced 16 goal contributions in the 20/21 season.
The 28-year-old has started life well at NEC Nijmegen as he has three goal contributions in his first five matches of the season and has made 17 goal contributions.
4. Tijjani Reijnders
The majority of Tijjani Reijnders’s appearances came from off the bench last season, but he has managed to solidify his place in the first team this season.
The 24-year-old has made 19 key passes this season at an average of 2.71 per game.
3. Maximilian Wittek
Maximilian Wittek has been Vitesse’s most creative outlet this season as he has made 20 key passes and produced two assists.
The German midfielder did well last season to produce six assists and no doubt he will be an important player for Vitesse once again.
2. Dusan Tadic
Since making his move to Ajax, Dusan Tadic has been a revelation in the Eredivisie.
The 33-year-old has produced 36 assists across his last two seasons with Ajax and he isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.
The Serbian international has made five assists this season from a total of 25 key passes.
Ajax currently sit second in the Eredivisie, having picked up 18 points from their opening seven matches.
Tadic chipped in with 32 goal contributions last season and you wouldn’t back against him producing similar numbers this season.
1. Cody Gakpo
Cody Gakpo has been by far and away the best player in the Eredivisie this season and it’s easy to see why so many clubs are after him.
The 23-year-old has eight goals and six assists in his first seven league appearances as well as two goal contributions in the Champions League.
Gakpo has produced a total of 31 key passes this season and leads the way as the most creative player in the Eredivisie.
