The 10 top scoring teams from across Europe: PSG, Man City, Liverpool

Messi, Mbappe and Neymar
We’re only a few games into this new season, but several top teams from across Europe have already found their goalscoring touch.

We’ve counted down the top 10 teams in Europe’s top five leagues with the most goals so far this season, not including own goals.

10. Lille

After their title-winning season in 2020/21, Lille fell to a 10th placed finish in Ligue 1 last season.

They have had a scoring touch about them this season though as they have scored 13 goals in their opening five matches, averaging 2.1 goals per game so far.

9. Arsenal

Arsenal's perfect start to the season came to an end against Manchester United this weekend, but they still rank amongst Europe’s top scorers.

Mikel Arteta’s side have already scored 13 goals this season and they have looked like one of the most fluid sides in Europe.

8. Lyon

Lyon were the third-highest French scoring side last season with 66 league goals and they have had the goalscoring touch about them this year too.

Peter Bosz’s side have already scored 14 goals, with five of those goals coming against Angers.

7. Liverpool

Despite Liverpool’s defensive struggles, they haven’t had too many problems with finding the back of the net, barring this weekend’s goalless draw with Everton.

Liverpool’s goalscoring numbers have been massively boosted by their 9-0 hammering of Bournemouth.

Liverpool have scored 14 Premier League goals as things stand and that’s without Mohammed Salah really getting out of first gear.

6. Lens

Lens were the sixth highest scoring Ligue 1 side last season and they have been in the goals once again this year.

The French side put five goals past Lorient in midweek and smashed four goals past Monaco a few weeks ago.

They have already scored 15 goals this season and are the third highest scoring French side this season.

5. Brentford

The Bees managed to smash four goals past Manchester United on gameweek two of the Premier League as they have had a solid start to the season.

Ivan Toney is already off the mark with five goals and two assists as Brentford have scored 15 goals in their opening five matches.

4. Montpellier

Montpellier currently rank as the second highest French scoring side of the season, with 16 goals in their opening five matches.

43% of their goals came in their away game against Brest as they smashed seven goals past them.

3. Bayern Munich

Yann Sommer managed to keep Bayern Munich at bay by himself as he made an unbelievable 19 saves to earn his side a point against the German champions.

Despite Bayern only putting one goal past Borussia Monchengladbach and Union Berlin, they still rank as the Bundesliga’s top scorers this season.

They have scored 16 goals in total and currently sit third in the Bundesliga.

2. Manchester City

Erling Haaland has started this season like he means business and it’s no surprise to see Manchester City near the top of the goalscoring charts.

Haaland himself has scored over half of Manchester City’s goals so far as they have scored 19 collectively.

City have been held to two draws this season, against Newcastle and Aston Villa, but they still sit second in the table and just one point off the top.

1. PSG

Christophe Galtier seems to have found the winning formula at PSG this season as they currently sit top of Ligue 1 and as the highest scoring team across Europe.

While PSG won the league title last season, they still didn’t come across as the most fluid and polished outfits.

Neymar has been in inspired form so far this season as he already has 13 goal contributions in his first five matches.

Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe have also combined for some great moments so far as PSG have hit the back of the net 23 times already this season.
