The 10 teams who have won more than they've lost against Man City
Manchester City are the latest powerhouse of English football. But these 10 teams still hold a positive record over the Citizens in the Premier League era.
Manchester City have been at the top in England for quite some years now. They are once again dominating the Premier League this season and are looking to go back-to-back and claim another league trophy.
But they’ve not always been this dominant. In fact, before their rise to the top in 2011, they hadn’t won the Premier League before. Their last First Division title (as it was called back then) was in 1968.
Indeed, since the Premier League was founded in 1992, City have spent five seasons playing in the second and third tiers, as such facing a number of teams who are not currently in the top flight.
We here thought it would be interesting to bring the Citizens back down to earth and list the 10 teams they do not hold the upper hand against post-92.

Obviously, there are teams there that they currently compete against every year in the Premier League, and as such those records will change by two games at least every year.
Leeds are more than likely going to be the first team to be caught by City. They have only two wins over them, and with how poor Leeds have been playing this year, you can't imagine City won't be able to surpass them within the next year or two. That is, if Leeds stay up this year.
Arsenal looks like they'll be the first of the big teams that City will be able to overtake. They currently have a six-win lead over them; however, Arsenal have looked to be stepping their game up this season. Recent years haven't been too kind to the Gunners, but with the new crop of talent they have, they might just be able to make themselves into contenders in time to start properly challenging City again.
Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur all hold healthy leads over the Sky Blues.
Chelsea has the strongest lead over them, with 13 more wins over their heads and a hefty 23-goal lead. They are also competing with City this season, as are Liverpool, so the chances of either one of the two being caught anytime soon is quite low.
Manchester United and Tottenham, however, aren't really anywhere near City's level. Manchester has been blue ever since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, while Spurs have dropped off this season and look to be in a bit of a small rebuild state, provided they give Antonio Conte the backing he deserves.
While they have got sizeable leads over City, those gaps have already started to close and will continue to do so for as long as City are at the top.
And then you have the teams that can live free and happy knowing that their records over City will be staying intact for the foreseeable future.
AFC Wimbledon currently compete in League One, and in fact are sitting in 20th place at the time of writing, with the danger of relegation looming. The likelihood of them having a crazy turnaround in the next few years and achieving back-to-back promotions to take them into the Premier League is unlikely to say the least. So, unless they draw City in the FA Cup and League Cup next year, their one-win lead is going to stay.
Middlesborough last faced Man City in 2017, when they had their last spell in the Premier League. To their credit, they picked up two draws against City in that one season back.
They now compete in the Championship, where they are currently in a play-off spot. So, there is a possibility that Boro could be back in the topflight next season, giving both sides the opportunity to improve their record against each other. Even so, Man City would have some way to go to better Middlesborough. The gap between each other's wins over the other is the same as the number of times they've drawn (7). Middlesborough have a strong goal difference on their side, too.
Blackburn are in a similar position to Middlesborough, in that they're currently in a play-off spot in the Championship. But they don't have that healthy a lead over City. Just the one win in it and equal goal difference.
Coventry are bang in the middle of the Championship, sitting in 12th place. They are only five points off Middlesborough, although it seems unlikely they'll catch them this year, so their two-win lead over City is probably safe for now.
