Premier League leaders for shots on target percentage
This list of the Premier League leaders for shots on target percentage may shock you, as only two conventional striker's features.
You're not going to score if you don't hit the target, and these 10 players are the best at getting a shot off that will challenge the goalkeeper.
Here are the Premier League leaders for shots on target percentage this season.
1. Fred
Shots total: 15
Shots on target: 9
Shots on target %: 60%
Fred probably isn't the first player that comes to mind when thinking of the most accurate shooters in the league but here we are.
The Manchester United midfielder isn't one for taking many shots, but he seems to have a good knowledge of when he should.
Hitting the target 60% of the time is a very good rate, and from his nine shots on target, he has scored four goals, which gives him a strong 44% conversion rate.
He also ranks second from all the players in Europe's top five leagues for shots on target percentage.
2. Emile Smith Rowe
Shots total: 40
Shots on target: 23
Shots on target %: 57.5%
Emile Smith Rowe has been living up to the number 10 shirt for Arsenal, and is showing a great scope of potential to his game.
He is Arsenal's second top scorer this season with 10 goals, and he has scored those off of 23 shots on target.
That gives him a 43% conversion rate, which is good for the role he plays with the team.
3. Marcus Rashford
Shots total: 22
Shots on target: 12
Shots on target %: 54.5%
Marcus Rashford has been one of Manchester United's biggest stars since he broke through into the team at 17 years old.
This season, though, he hasn't been at his best. It is his lowest scoring season for four years, although he has started the second least amount of games in his career to date.
Despite these lows, he has still found a good ability to hit the target. Any rate over 50% shows someone with a good eye for goal.
Four goals this season from 12 shots on target gives him a fairly decent conversion rate of 33%.
4. N'Golo Kante
Shots total: 17
Shots on target: 9
Shots on target %: 52.9%
Just like Fred, N'Golo Kante isn't the first player you think of as a shooter. But the Frenchman has a good record when he does take a shot.
Nine shots on target from 17 shots is a fantastic rate for a defensive midfielder. He also has two goals this season, giving him an understandably low 22% conversion rate.
5. Steven Bergwijn
Shots total: 19
Shots on target: 10
Shots on target %: 52.6%
Tottenham have some strong scorers on their side, Steven Bergwijn being one of them.
The Dutchman has three goals from 10 shots this season for a 30% conversion rate to go along with his 52.6% shots on target rate.
Bergwijn is often shown up by his teammates, but he can occasionally get the job done for Spurs.
6. Michael Olise
Shots total: 19
Shots on target: 10
Shots on target %: 52.6%
Michael Olise is almost through with his first season in the Premier League with Crystal Palace, and he has shown he is more than capable at competing in the league.
10 shots on target from 19 shots is a really good rate for a young player in their rookie season, so he should only get better.
He has scored two goals this year, which gives him a 20% conversion rate.
7. Son Heung-min
Shots total: 75
Shots on target: 39
Shots on target %: 52%
The best scorer on this list and the second Spurs player, Son Heung-min is a bonafide Premier League star.
20 goals this season has him second in the golden boot race, but Mo Salah, who is in first, can't hold a candle to Son's shots on target percentage.
He also has Salah beat for conversion rate. Salah has scored 22 goals from 46 shots on target for a 48% conversion rate. Son has a 51% rate.
8. Patson Daka
Shots total: 25
Shots on target: 13
Shots on target %: 52%
Patson Daka was an unknown signing that Leicester made this season. While he hasn't set the league on fire, he has shown he's capable of growing into the league.
Daka has five goals this season from 13 shots on target for a 38% conversion rate.
9. Che Adams
Shots total: 48
Shots on target: 24
Shots on target %: 50%
Che Adams is Southampton's second top scorer with seven goals. It's not exactly the rate he was scoring at while he was playing for Birmingham in the Championship, but that is a completely different league after all.
Southampton are missing that feature striker who can get them goals. Adams is a decent enough shooter, but not a solid enough scorer.
50% shots on target accuracy is good, but a 29% conversion rate isn't for a striker.
10. Solly March
Shots total: 20
Shots on target: 10
Shots on target %: 50%
Last but not least, Solly March from Brighton. He is an odd one out on this list, as he actually operates as a wing-back. He does get forward and can play on the wing, but he is mainly used as a defender.
That being said, he is capable while going forward, and his 50% shots on target accuracy rate shows that.
He has failed to score this season from this 10 shots on target, but again, he is technically a defender, so he gets a pass on that front.
