Mohammed Kudus a rising star

Mohammed Kudus a rising star
Ajax player Mohammed Kudus has been one of the highlights of the World Cup tournament when Ghana has played

We’ve looked a bit at his background and his stats for Ajax this season.

Mohammed Kudus career:

Mohamed Kudus grew up in the city of Accra in Ghana where, according to himself, he had a good childhood. He describes it as growing up where his family was neither rich or poor as he never went to bed hungry.
His interest in football started with football on the street before he later joined the Ghanaian academy Right to Dream. This is an academy which, in collaboration with the Danish club FC Nordsjaelland, will give young people in Ghana the opportunity to live out their dreams.

In 2018, FC Nordsjaelland chose to associate Kudus with the club and the young Ghanaian therefore went to cold Denmark, here he spent the first year getting used to the Danish lifestyle and the European playing style.
However, it was clear to see he had some qualities and in his second season he burned out the Danish league with 9 goals in 21 games.

Ajax bought Kudus in 2020 and spent a year adapting him to their style of play before he became a permanent starter in the team. Unfortunately for Kudus, he suffered a bad knee injury in the Champions League against Liverpool and spent much of last season rehabbing.

This season, Kudus has really shown what a huge talent he is and after his performances at the World Cup, clubs such as Real Madrid and Liverpool are reported to be interested in him.

Kudus stats for Ajax this season:
Games: 21
Goals: 10
Assists: 2
Shots per game: 1.8
Dribbles per game: 1.7

Kudus stats at the World Cup for Ghana:
Games: 2
Goals: 2
Shots per game: 2
Dribbles per game:  2.5

Kudus should stay at Ajax for the rest of the season to continue his development before he has to take the next step to a bigger club this summer. He needs to work on becoming a more mature player, he often drops out of games if things don't work out and then he also needs to start making more assists.
