Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City?

Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City?
Chelsea star Mateo Kovacic is in discussions to join the Premier League champions, Manchester City.

Renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Kovacic and Manchester City are close to reaching an agreement on personal terms, after which Chelsea and City will have to negotiate a transfer fee. City has previously expressed interest in the 29-year-old Croatian to strengthen their midfield, and it seems that Kovacic's time at Chelsea is coming to an end. The Croatian midfielder is said to have expressed his desire to leave Chelsea, and efforts are now being made to finalize the transfer.
Kovacic has several top clubs on his resume and has consistently performed for these clubs. He is known for being a dynamic and aggressive midfielder, a slightly different profile compared to Manchester City's current midfield. Therefore, it would make sense for Guardiola to bring in more energy to the team by signing Kovacic.

Kovacic stats in Chelsea:
Games: 221
Goals: 6
Assists: 15

Kovacic stats in Real Madrid:
Games: 109
Goals: 3
Assists: 8

Kovacic stats in Inter Milan:
Games: 97
Goals: 8
Assists: 11

Chelsea has not had a good season, and even though Pochettino is rumored to be the manager next season, it doesn't seem attractive to Kovacic. He wants to play European football and win titles towards the end of his career. If the transfer goes through, it will be interesting to see if Kovacic becomes a replacement for Gündogan and if Pep Guardiola can further develop him as a player, making him a better playmaker and more decisive in matches.
