Can Kasper Dolberg get his career back on track at Anderlecht?

The Dane is set to try and kickstart his career in Belgium.

In the 2016/17 season, Kasper Dolberg had his debut season for Ajax, and with 23 goals as an 18-year-old, he was hailed as one of the biggest talents. The following two seasons were a mix of success, but still with acceptable stats for a young forward. He then chose to move to Nice, and since then, his career has taken a downturn. Scoring 11 goals in his debut season was decent, but afterwards, Dolberg didn't get much playing time and unfortunately, he was also affected by illness, which kept him out for an extended period and caused him to lose his match fitness.

To regain his former strength and get more match practice, he was loaned out last season, first to Sevilla where he hardly got any playing time. As a result, the loan agreement was terminated and replaced with a six-month deal at Hoffenheim. Unfortunately, this also did not turn out to be a successful season, as he only managed to score two goals and had limited appearances as a substitute.

Now, he will try to rediscover his joy for football at Anderlecht, who have signed the Danish striker. Anderlecht has been going through a crisis in recent years, both financially and in terms of results, so they are taking a gamble by bringing in Dolberg, as he is an expensive transfer for them. There is pressure on Dolberg right from the start, both from the media and the fans, so it will be exciting to see if he can respond to the critics and prove himself as a substitute. Belgium is a league on the rise but is not on the same level as the Bundesliga and Ligue 1. Therefore, it might be an appropriate level for Dolberg. If he gets off to a good start by scoring some goals, he could potentially become a major star in the Belgian league.
