Image Description
The Championship is home to some of the best dribblers in England and we’ve compiled a list of the top 10 most successful dribblers from last season.

10. Keane-Lewis Potter

Lewis-Potter was one of the standout under 23 performers in the Championship last season as he scored 12 goals.

His versatility came in handy as he was used as a wing-back, winger and centre forward throughout the season.

In total he completed 61 successful dribbles.

9. Ben Brereton-Diaz

It was no surprise that Blackburn’s drop in form coincided with Brereton-Diaz being out injured.

He finished the season as Blackburn’s top goalscorer with 22 goals and 61 successful dribbles.

8. Philip Zinckernagel

Watford loanee Philip Zinckernagel proved his worth to Steve Coopers side as they were promoted at Wembley.

The 27-year-old was utilised as a number 10 behind two strikers and he managed to complete 62 successful dribbles. Zinckernagel may move back to Nottingham Forest this summer or Watford manager Rob Edwards could see him as a usual player for them in the Championship.

7. John Swift

West Brom have arguably already picked up the bargain of the season as they have managed to land Reading’s John Swift on a free transfer.

He was one of the EFL’s most creative midfielders last season as he came up with 24 goal contributions, which was 44% of Reading’s total output.

The 26-year-old also had a knack for wriggling out of tight situations as he completed 62 successful dribbles throughout the campaign.

6. Siriki Dembele

Siriki Dembele only started four Championship matches for Bournemouth after his January move from Peterborough and so it’s quite the achievement that he’s this high up on the list.

Dembele completed 65 dribbles in total, with an impressive success rate of 64%.

5. Djed Spence

After a successful loan spell with Nottingham Forest, Djed Spence is a player that is wanted by several Premier League clubs right now.

Playing as a right-wing back he managed to complete 74 successful dribbles.

The 21-year-old averaged one key pass per 90 and finished the season with four assists.

4. Chris Willock

Had Chris Willock not been injured towards the end of the season, who knows where QPR might have gone on to finish.

Willock was QPR’s most creative outlet as he chipped in with 11 assists and seven goals.

The 24-year-old drifted past defenders with ease as he completed 76 dribbles.

3. Viktor Gyokeres

Appearing as the only out and out striker on the list we have Coventry’s Viktor Gyokeres, who has had quite the season.

The Swedish frontman scored 17 goals throught the campaign, his best ever goal return, as well as chipping in with five assists.

Several Championship clubs have already been eyeing up a move for the 24-year-old and it’s understandable to see why.

He also carries the ball well which is why he has been able to complete 81 successful dribbles.

2. Lewis O’Brien

Huddersfield have a huge task on their hands if they lose Lewis O’Brien this summer.

The dynamic midfielder ranked top of the charts for dribbles and tackles won within the Huddersfield squad.

The 23-year-old has formed a solid partnership with Jonathan Hogg over the last few seasons and he will be sorely missed if he does move on this summer.

In total, O’Brien completed 88 successful dribbles which was more than any other central midfielder last season.

1. Josh Bowler

Josh Bowler is now heading into the final 12 months of his contract at Blackpool and the winger certainly won’t be short of offers this summer.

The 23-year-old operated on the right-hand side of a 4-4-2 formation that allowed him to isolate defenders in wide areas.

He completed more dribbles than any other Championship player last season with 104 in total.
