2022-23 NBA season preview: Everything you need to know

Another NBA season is around the corner, and here are our contenders, wildcards, dark horses and disappointments.

The 2022-23 regular season of the NBA starts on October 19

THE EASTERN CONFERENCE

Title favorites: Milwaukee Bucks

The 2021 champions struggled last year and could not defend their title. One of the biggest reasons was Khris Middleton's injury last year and the Bucks struggled defensively. But with him back on the team soon and Jrue Holiday and Jevon Carter's ability to play a top supporting role + with two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo's ability to take the team to new heights, they are the strong favorites in the East.

Wild cards: Philadelphia 76ers

The 76ers are the team with the highest cap in the league this year. Joel Embiid is coming into his own, James Harden remains an elite scorer, and Tobias Harris has all the skills to be one of the most impactful forwards in the NBA. If the Philadelphia 76ers can stay drama-free and perform better on the road, they could be real wild cards and breakthroughs in the East.

Dark Horse: Brooklyn Nets

With Kyrie Irving, Ben Simmons and Kevin Durant leading the offence, the Nets have plenty of potentials to be the No. 1 offensive team in the entire NBA. For yet another season Brooklyn Nets have of one of the most talented rosters in the NBA and hopefully, they will live up to their potential this time.

THE WESTERN CONFERENCE

Title favorites: Golden State Warriors

A team built around Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson they are likely to be one of the top teams in the NBA. Golden State Warriors are last year’s NBA Champions and winners of four rings in the last eight seasons, so of course, they are yet again among the favorites to win the NBA.

Dark Horses: Memphis Grizzlies

The Grizzlies have already shown several times in the recent how big of an advantage it can be to be an incredible home team, and how important their deep bench strength is to pull them through to a great regular season.
The only issue we see is the lack of playoff experience, however, they have many talented players in the team and they are our dark horses in the Western Conference.

Disappointment: LA Lakers

Lebron James signed a record-breaking contract extension, and Anthony Davis continues to be one of the league’s very best, but injuries use to be their main issue just like last season. We don't believe the key players can keep them injury-free and for that reason, we predict another disappointing season.
